After nine years, here I am again starting to blog…
This blog is about our trip to the big city of Canada, which is Toronto. During our trip we had High HOPES and Positive attitude to have a better life to our new destination. We left Neepawa, Manitoba at around 5am and we are all excited and it was a heart breaking moment at the same time for all of us having the thought of leaving the place, my brother, our friends and Joreu’s classmates. Our first destination was Thunder Bay, Ontario. It’s a 12 hours drive from Manitoba. We reached the Days Inn Hotel around 5 PM and stayed there for a night. The trip was tiring, however it's fulfilling because of the scenery. We’ve seen a long line of a farm field, lakes and passed by the middle of a forest with a few houses a long the way. I only have a few hours of sleep due to the effect of the energy drink that I drunk. I have no choice for that’s the only way for me to be awake for the rest of our trip. They said that I must enjoy the trip and of course focus on my driving as well. Our Stay at the hotel was quite rewarding because of the amenities and the cleanliness of the room. We ate, watched TV and after shower we slept early because the next day will be a long day again for us, specially for me since I am only the one who drives.
The second day of our destination was Cochrane, Ontario which was 8 hours away from Toronto. This was 8 hours drive away from Thunder Bay too. We passed a few Communities and filled our gas and I noticed that the people are French speaking. I got confused because based on what I have read, most of the French speaking places are in Ottawa and Montreal. The road we passed by have similarity when driving to Baguio City, It has zigzag, up and down Hill, but still safe to drive since you only see a few cars along the way. We stayed at West Way Motel at Cochrane, the room was a bit small compared to the first hotel. However, the most important for me is the cleanliness of the room. We stayed for a night and it was raining. I suddenly felt sadness having the thought of; did we made the right choice? Wondering what awaits us … and of course I missed the place where I started all my dreams which is Manitoba. Leaving my Brother and friends that I laughed with and the places that I used to visit. But here we are, moving the cheese.
Third day was our final destination, we were all excited to arrive earlier to our destination, high hopes are with us and I can smell Toronto along the way LOL. It’s an 8 hours drive and there was a way like an express way, it’s about 4 hours drive and doesn’t have any Gasoline Station or Food Stall along the way. You will need to exit on a community just to reach a gas station. Luckily, I have GPS to track the nearest Gasoline Station.
Around 4 pm we reached our destination. THANK GOD that our trip was safe and did not encounter any brake down in our car or any kind of accident. I told myself that I will not drive again that long, but I guess I was wrong for I need to drive again to CHASE MY DREAM. Dream to give my FAMILY a better life ...
